Awright! Wolverine's an atheist!
wait. isn't satan an actual character in the marvel universe? doesn't that sort of negate the whole possibility of atheism among any of the marvel characters? how do you not believe in something that actually exists?
NICE Blog :)
We're going to have a similar problem with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls (ugh; great title, guys) next year. One of the fellow geeks next to me at I Am Legend explained that the "Crystal Skull" mythology relates to all those Erik Von Daniken books from the '70s like "CHARIOTS OF THE GODS?" about aliens coming to earth and starting human civilization. I pointed out that the "Indy" universe is one in which the Ark of the Covenant is real (and powerful) which means that the Bible is true, which means no aliens. We then mulled that over gravely as we waited for the movie to start. But I guess the Indy universe is like the Marvel Universe in that whichever magic is relevant at the time is true, but it's not true when other conflicting belief systems are in the foreground.
i imagine that would simplify things in the election process. no longer would people be able to play the religious card -- iron man could just knock on god's door and ask if Mitt Romney is really the Christnik he claims to be. god would be like, "psh, that guy's a fucking tool. don't believe a word he says."
