JPX loves puzzles
My latest obsession is 1970s era television jigsaw puzzles. In particular I’m quite taken with the sci-fi themed puzzles although if a Fonzie puzzle found its way into my bed I wouldn’t kick it out. I’ve made a bunch of puzzles recently and I’ve concluded that I like the 200 piece puzzles the most because they are not challenging at all and I can usually finish one in 30 minutes, which is the approximate length of an Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode (my other recent obsession). Above is my latest puzzle. I found this at the Brimfield Antique Show (largest flea market in the U.S.) for a sweet $5. The vendor assured me that the puzzle was “complete”, but of course it was missing 1 piece, which makes me mental. I love this puzzle because it’s so confusing; what the hell is going on in this scene? Why is Kirk so upset and why is Spock so nonplussed?

i think the puzzle needs a caption....
That is an awesome puzzle but you need to track down that same vendor and ream him out for the missing piece. How satisfying would it be to call "and I bet you knew about the missing piece but thought you'd get away with it" etc.
Spock is always nonplussed JPX.
Right... for me it's not so much Spock's demeanor but the extreeeeeme level Kirk seems to be freaking out. Way over Actual Shatner, if you ask me.
But more than that, what the hell is going on the background? Is that the flying sub from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea but with skis on it, emerging from a psychedelic wormhole? What gives?
Maybe the missing piece ties it all together.
Do you display these once finished? Or do you just pack 'em up?
Spock is so crazy detached, even for Spock. I too wonder what the hell is going on in the background. It's like all 3 of them are in different stories.
JSP, it actually wouldn't be too difficult to track down that vendor - I'll be returning to the flea market in August and generally the same vendors are there. Hmmm...
It's funnier the more you look at it. Neither Kirk nor Spock acknowledge the blaring spaceship in the background. Clearly some serious shit's going down.
I so miss doing puzzles, but with 4 cats it's an impossible feat. Nice job and I love the puzzle. It does need a caption!
