"A" is for "Awesome!"

Granted this is about as far away from the spirit of the Horrothon site as I could get, but I'm actually pretty psyched to watch a lot of these old sketches. Hooray, no Elmo!

Sesame Street: Old School, Volume 1 is a three-disc DVD set collecting episodes and skits from the first five years of Sesame Street. Old School is being marketed as a "nostalgia set", aimed at teenagers and adults who remember the series from their childhood. The content of the set is focused exclusively on the first five seasons of the show (1969-1974).

The three discs will contain five complete episodes of the show, plus an additional 2-hours of extra skits and material. The total run-time is over 7-hours. A 16-page booklet will also be included.

Segements and episodes include:
Original Pilot Pitch
"Rubber Duckie"
"C Is For Cookie"
"I Love Trash"
"The King of Eight"
"Ladybug Picnic"
"The Alligator King"
"Pinball Number Count"
Guest appearances by James Earl Jones, Jesse Jackson, Johnny Cash and Jackie Robinson
The release date is set for October 24, 2006

Clearly it was an episode brought to us by the letter J. Goddamn corporations, controlling everything.

Honestly though, this is A for Awesome.

If they don't include "Minuh minuh!"/"Doo doo doo doo doo doo" (You know; the monster in the sweater flanked by the satanic blonde girls, doing the song from Benny Hill) I'll be disappointed.
