From dark horizons, Rapper Xzibit, "Studio 60" actress Amanda Peet and Scottish comedian Billy Connolly have signed on for director Chris Carter's "The X Files 2" at 20th Century Fox reports Reuters.
Xzibit and Peet will play fellow FBI agents to David Duchovny's Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Scully in the supernatural thriller with a stand-alone story, not a sequel or continuation of the first feature film spin-off of the successful series back in 1998.
Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the screenplay, and production is expected to begin this month in Vancouver for release next July.

I suppose if I had to trade Annabeth Gish for Amanda Peet I wouldn't hesitate, regardless of my Brotherhood bias.
Strange that they didn't bring her & Doggett (the T-1000) in for the sequel.
Whatever. Amanda Peet. Rrreow.
Aww, you shouldn't torture Jordan with more Amanda Peet posts...
I thought Handsome was talking gibberish until I realized he was talking about the fake Bo and Luke Duke analogs they shoehorned into the X-Files long after I gave up on it.
So: Yes, great, Amanda Peet in something. Cool. But what da fuck are they doing making another X-Files flick without Mulder and Scully? Just make another movie then! Sheesh.
