Beatles sons consider forming new band

From usatoday, Imagine: Four sons of four Beatles forming a new group.
Or as New York editor Ben Greeman puts it: Here come the sons.
In an interview Monday with the BBC, James McCartney, 34, son of Paul, said he'd be "up for it."
The 34-year-old musician, who's released three EPs on his own, was asked about forming The Beatles - The Next Generation, with Sean Lennon (John's son), Dhani Harrison (George's son) and Zak Starkey [Ringo Starr's son]?
"I don't think it's something that Zak wants to do. Maybe Jason [another of Starr's sons and also drummer] would want to do it. I'd be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it. I'd be happy to do it," said James.
So does he think it could happen? "Yeah, hopefully, naturally. I don't know, you'd have to wait and see. The will of God, nature's support, I guess. So yeah, maybe."

Adam Sandler and ‘Jack and Jill’ Pull a Huge Awards Sweep! (At the Razzies)

From slashfilm, Briefly: As spoof awards go, The Razzies are pretty rote. Calling out films like Battlefield Earth and Sex and the City 2 for being terrible doesn’t take a whole lot of effort. Sure, those movies suck, but they’re not interesting failures, just things to be ignored. Maybe their terrible qualities are good for a chuckle, but that’s about it. So seeing that the Adam Sandler movie Jack and Jill is the first-ever film to take all ten ‘major’ golden raspberry awards doesn’t mean much, I think, other than doling out all the awards to one film is an attempt at comedy worthy of, well, Jack and Jill.
For the record, the film’s ‘awards’ were: Worst Picture, Worst Actor, Worst Actress, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Supporting Actress, Worst Screen Ensemble, Worst Director, Worst Remake Rip-Off or Sequel (for emulating Ed Wood’s Glen or Glenda), Worst Screen Couple, and Worst Screenplay. Adam Sandler is involved in almost all of those categories, though Al Pacino and David Spade scored the supporting jabs. A couple of those categories were split between Jack and Jill and another Sandler picture, Just Go With It. And yet, amid all that, there was no award given for the fact that Jack and Jill somehow cost $80 million. The Razzies: not yet comprehensive.
The unlikely DVDs that have become surprisingly valuable

From denofgeek, The maturity of the DVD market has meant that, inevitably, over the years, plenty of releases have been deleted. Most of the time, that’s that. The disc disappears, nobody notices, we all move on.
Sometimes, that’s part of the plan. Numbered limited editions, scarce boxsets, time limited releases… it’s all part of the game in making a DVD release feel collectable, and thus more valuable. They taunt us with the prospect of us getting rich by selling the film on for a massive profit many years down the line.
However, there’s emerging an unlikely collection of rare and surprisingly valuable DVDs, films that you might never expect to double their retail value. See if you’ve got any of these on your shelf…
Note: prices were checked against eBay/Amazon where appropriate, and were correct at the time of the article going live.

A Family Circus Christmas?
How is it that I never heard of this special? Let me back up. Have you ever viewed a video on YouTube, then clicked on one of the suggested links afterwards and from there continue to click on links until you are far from your original link? I started out watching The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan’s Island (the Globetrotters were in town this weekend) and many clicks later I discovered this instantly so-bad-its-good gem. If you thought the comic strip was the bottom of the barrel for comic strips, check out the animated special. Perhaps I should have waited until December to post this, but it’s a slow news day. One surprising discovery; the voices are exactly as I imagined them to be, which has never happened to me before.
[UPDATE]
I started clicking links again and discovered this Cathy monstrosity! I recommend jumping to the 7 minute mark if you want confirmation that Cathy's tears are even grosser/trippier/annoying when animated.
Box Office

From cinemablend, The Hunger Games seems to be more than what fans could have asked for as audiences flocked to theaters once again to hand the movie its second number one weekend. While dropping a hefty 60% from its record breaking $152 million opening last week, it's still in healthy shape. Crossing the $200 million mark in just 8 days, it became one of only five movies in history to ever achieve the feat.
Already the top selling movie of the year so far, The Hunger Games will easily hit $300 million in domestic sales and possibly wind up somewhere near the $375 million mark, making it a match for major movies set to arrive this summer, including sequels like The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises.
