Jameson is mentally ill. His obsession with Spider-Man makes no sense given that the rest of the world views Spider-Man as a hero. Why would Peter remain in such a toxic work environment? He should tell Jameson that he wants a huge raise and if he doesn't get it he will go to another paper and Jameson will never have another picture of Spider-Man - that's his leverage!
