Yeah, we never heard of this AC beyotch. |
I grabbed her boob, heh heh. |
Just once, I wish I could have had a decent meal in peace. |
I'm a nice guy, but I'll get a restraining order if I have to. |
First rule of Horrorthon is: watch horror movies. Second rule of Horrorthon is: write about it. Warn us. Tempt us. The one who watches the most movies in 31 days wins. There is no prize.

I'm sure Octo and Matt will regale us with tons of celeb stuff but here are the ones off the top of my head; I met KISS backstage with AC and Desroch thanks to AC, I saw them filming Goodwill Hunting and I met Robin Williams (and saw Mat Damon but I had never heard of him), I have Sam Kinison's autograph because he came into Showcase Cinemas when I was ushering, I met Micky Dolenz in November and had him sign a Monkees album. I followed Rob Halford (Judas Priest) into the men's room when I worked at Showcase and had him autograph my ticket stub. I watched live tapings of Conan and Regis and Kathy Lee (bopth shows had celebs on). I have Sulu's autograph from a Star Trek convention as well as the woman with the tall hair from Star Trek.I walked by Peter Jennings on a street in NYC. Over the past 20 years I have attended dozens of collector shows and have seen hundreds of b-celebs. I have Bill Mumy's autograph and I have seen the entire cast of both the original Star Trek (except Scotty) and Lost in Space. In November I saw Ian Zering, Lindsay Wagner, Lee Majors and many more at Boston Supermegafest. At a Monkees concert Johnnysweat and I slapped Micky, Peter, and Davy's hands "five" as they ran past us. Michael Nesmith stood next to me right before he was ready to perform in a small venue in Fall River last fall. Over the years I have seen Kenny Baker, Anthony Daniels, Chewbacca, Darth Maul and other Star Wars people. I've seen Mini-me, "Jaws" from James Bond, Carol Spiny, Oscar Goldman, 5 or 6 of the Lollypop Guild, Eddie Munster, the original Howdy Doody, Diana Troy, Brent Spiner, 7 of 9 (yes, totally hot and wonderfully chested in real life), and I had a conversation with the baby from Bewitched and made her laugh when I made fun of another celebrity. I have seen Samantha from Bewitched and I saw I Dream of Genie at Sea World. At Disney World Danny Devito and Carla from Cheers walked past me. Hmmm, I know there are others. Do patients count? Ah, we're not allowed to talk about that...
Wow - JPX!
Okay - here's what I've got,
these are all from the Westin days and in no particular order:
Checked in Victoria Jackson (SNL)
Assisted Julia Child into a cab
Passed by Peter Boyle
Escorted Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw to the Presidential Suite. The security guard with us was supposed to make sure we went straight to the top floor but somehow screwed up and we stopped on the floor with the pool and I had to tell six kids in towels they couldn't get on. I never liked that security guard.
I was the elevator operator for Al Gore and his entourage when he spoke at the Convention Center. He and his people were talking about who he had to thank and he said "James Langevin" - except he said it, Lang rhymes with tang, which is wrong. It's Lange rhymes with...flange. So he is asking if that's the correct way to say it and all his people are saying yes, yes. I'm in the corner of the elevator, this is the service elevator so it's kind of big and I pipe up with, "Actually it's pronounced (correctly) Langevin." Eight heads turn and look at me. And Al says, "Langevin. Okay." As he gets off the elevator he turns to me, shakes my hand and says, "Thanks for the speech help."
(This is probably my favorite celeb story.)
Oh - and I also used to see Shel Silverstein in his black Speedo at the private beach when I worked at the Pier House in Key West.
Also Jack Nicholson was in the restaurant that Desroc and I worked in, also in KW, so we both saw him. And the former coach of the Dallas Cowboys Jimmy Johnson. And Roy Schneider! And Jimmy Buffet because of course.
Oh yeah - and we did Teddy Pendergrass' wedding at OceanCliff. I've also met Jeffrey Osborne as he's done a charity event that we've housed some people for. Some of whom were famous, but mostly former basketball players - I didn't recognize any of them.
This is getting totally random, but Nick Warnock who was in the first season of Apprentice also attended a wedding here.
I also feel like there must be more, but that's all I can think of right now!
wow, jpx and dcd!! these are some great celeb sightings. if this is all that comes in, it will still be tough to pick a winner!
and no breaching patient confidentiality, jpx! not even for this incredibly important contest. :)
DCD you left out Chris Evans!
This is fun but yes, I do have a lot. I'll have to get back to it.
DCD, didn't you and Octo see Vincent Price?
Yay Octopunk, can't wait to read yours when you have a chance!
JPX, didn't you meet Ron Palillo?
If I can play, too, do these guys count?

Come on, 7ofNine, you can do better than that, you're from CA!
Oh yeah, I met Horeshack, I totally forgot about that! He was by himself peddling a kid's book he wrote and I was near him. All of a sudden he stood up and shot his hand out! I asked him what Gabe Kaplan was up to and he said, "Probably enjoying his poker earnings"! I've seen Lou Ferrigno (sp?) at a few of the shows as well.
Not in any particular order & off head-top: When I was really little, I danced in a Baryshnikov ballet performance in New Orleans; Saw William Shatner eating in a restaurant in Carlsbad, CA [my hometown :) ] (Also saw him at Providence ComiCon this last year along with John Rhys-Davies, inter alia.); Went to grade school with Milla Jovovich; Shlepped drinks to Junior Seau (former San Diego Chargers football player) (along with tons of the other team - if athletes count); Met and partied (I mean it in the most formal, respectful, manner-laden way possible) with the President of Panama at family weddings (lovely, classy woman); Met and partied with Ruben Blades at family weddings in Panama; Unable to persuade the bouncer (at an ex-boyfriend's restaurant in La Jolla) to let Kiefer Sutherland into the bar because he didn't have an ID to show he was over 21; Had Carol LeBeau (San Diego News Anchor) sign a headshot to my sister saying she loved my sister's face; Touched Lindsey Buckingham's hand (remarkably soft!), strummed his guitar, and had him point at me during a song performance; Stevie Nicks shook her head at me saying she wouldn't give me an autograph; Jim Breuer offered to take a selfie (awful word, no?) of him & me after a big hug, and pressed his cheek up against mine for the photo THAT HE TOOK HIMSELF (SUCH a celebrity comedian crush on him); Partied with Girard Depardieu's crazy fun daughter in Iceland for a few nights (and it was at the time of year when it is night all day long!); Bill Clinton spoke at my graduation, and his Secret Service confiscated my Sypderco Knife (I sailed a lot at that time, and never went anywhere without it...not even graduation? seriously? so weird...but they never gave it back, and ended up reimbursing me for it!); Surfed and sailed with Kent Layton in So Cal and Baja California ("Baja") (mainly surfing in Baja)(former pro super cool old-school surfer, one of the originals, classic, smart, and funny as heck); Cannot discuss "shhhh"-privileged clients (not patients, but I like it! It only makes sense to apply this rule).
Oh yeah, Octo! Chris Evans' sister got married at OceanCliff too and he was there. His mother was a hoot. We saw Vincent Price perform at RIC, but I want counting that kind of sighting...
Now that's what I'm talking about 7ofNine! Wow, so cool!
Super cool, 7ofNine! All your stories are great but I am partial to the Lindsey Buckingham interaction. I would never have guessed soft hands. Sorry Stevie Nicks didn't give it up. Love the Jim Breuer selfie story too.
AC, I know! Soft hands? Where're the calluses? Regrettably, I instantly thought of Curley from "Of Mice and Men" and his vaseline glove. Erase that thought erase that thought! Think of this instead:

And Jim Breuer, *sigh,* yeah. Jim Breuer. So funny...
Your sightings are quite impressive, JPX, DCD, and AC! Geez. Neat!
