Excellent! Watch Thomas Jane's Unofficial "The Punisher" Short Film

From iwatchstuff, Marvel recently got back the rights to The Punisher, but is not currently planning to give the character his own film again. But if there's ever an opportunity to bring The Punisher to the big screen, Thomas Jane wants Marvel to know that he would love to reprise the role.

During the San Diego Comic-Con the actor premiered a short unofficial film, called "The Punisher: Dirty Laundry," which stars Jane and Ron Perlman. The short is R-rated and was directed by Phil Joanou (Gridiron Gang) and can be seen below.

"I wanted to make a fan film for a character I've always loved and believed in – a love letter to Frank Castle and his fans," said Jane. "It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It's been a blast to be a part of from start to finish — we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it."

not bad -- 10 minutes of way better filmmaking than the feature length punisher Jane did a few years back.

so i'll ask the burning question: he went into the laundromat to...make his clothes...more dry?

I appreciate Thomas Jane's enthusiasm for the character but let's face it - he has the charisma of a bowl of warm milk. His generic face makes my eyes drift. His very name consists of two unimaginative names slopped together.

And put the goddamn skull shirt on already.

Ha, good point 50P!

JSP, he can't wear the shirt because the character is under copyright. Also, if you notice they never say the name "Punisher".

Jesus 50P, do you live in a ghetto?

Pff. Ghetto, my butt. At the edges of the block there are expensive hipsters' cars looking for parking so they can eat exotic sausages.

Johnny, you took the Tommy Jane slam right out of my mouth.

And 50, don't you know he gets his powers from warm socks? That's in, like, issue 1. In my mind.

yeah. i met that dude. i went for the whole drug running thing to avoid getting my ass kicked. if i'd known that all i needed to do was give the guy multiple compound fractures and then light him on fire, i could have found a better day job ages ago.

seriously though, a lot of things have been shot in my neighborhood just because it looks gritty. off the top of my head, i can name Repo Man, Lost, CSI, Dexter, Grease, Crank, the music video for Thriller.

i've posed the question on my building's facebook page to see if someone else has a more comprehensive list.

if i get good responses, i'll do a post on my hood here.

I should come back to mention I enjoyed that little movie immensely. Wonderful pipe in the ass/bottle to the head factor.

That guy's bones broke really easily.
