New 'Robocop' costume blows
Remember how cool the original Robocop costume looked?
From hollywood.com, RoboCop, director Paul Verhoeven's satirical exploration of the near future, successfully balanced over-the-top bloodshed with logical reality. The film followed a regular joe cop rebuilt into a techno-super solider after being brutally ripped apart by a Detroit mafia. The titular RoboCop was high tech, but in a recognizably '80s way — sleek, shiny, and clunky.

Oh, I don't know. I think everybody's being a little harsh. The all-black is not my favorite, and I'm not sure about the shiny head, but the body design looks very cool to me. Sure, it's derivative of Iron Man and others, but I'm not sure how that was avoidable.
I remember thinking the original Robocop design looked stupid when I saw the poster; it wasn't until I heard the machine hum and stomping footsteps that I was convinced.
I think the new suit looks too similar to the suits in the recent G.I. Joe film (although I have never seen that film). I understand the pragmatic choice to use Kevlar in these superhero movies (e.g. Batman) but there is just something so charming about the original Robocop suit.
He does look an awful lot like Snake Eyes. I don't much care for the new look but I'm pleased they're making a new Robocop movie.
