Vince Vaughn Developing ‘Brady Bunch’ Reboot for CBS

From slashfilm [excerpt], Deadline reports that the multi-camera comedy has already received a script order. The new Brady Bunch will be a sort of reboot and sequel to the old Brady Bunch, with a focus on Bobby Brady. In the original sitcom, which aired on ABC from 1969-1974, Bobby was the youngest of three boys in the Brady family. Now all grown up, Bobby’s a divorced father remarried to a woman who also has kids of her own from a previous relationship. In addition, the new couple also share a child.

The new Brady Bunch will reflect more contemporary values and traditions. For example, both Bobby and his wife will maintain contact with their exes, whereas the original Brady Bunch shied away from exploring Carol’s previous relationship. (Bobby’s dad Mike was a widower.) That messiness should be right up Mariano’s alley, as he’s proven a knack for exploring offbeat familial relationships with the Hickeys and Turners of Earl and the Chances of Hope.

Thanks to my (selected) cultural illiteracy, this article turns to total gibberish at the end.

I bet Bobby's ex wife is Jan, who tricked him into marriage by wearing a huge wig.

Yeah, I've never heard of any of those either.

I think Wally would kick Bobby's ass.

LOL Octo.

This sounds like a train wreck, like almost every Brady Bunch spinoff since the series ended (with the exception of the 1st 2 movies which IMO are pure genius, and just as funny today as they were when they were released).

"Hickeys and Turners of Earl" _This would refer to "My Name is Earl" Jason Lee's show. I have no clue on the other one. Reboots like this most often end badly but please, please tell me that Bobby still has Alice for a maid.

Yeah, and she rolls around in a mechanized chair like Captain Pike from original Star Trek.
