Yeah, my first thought was of Horn Head getting his horn head sheared off by the closing hull, but then I figured he was more likely getting pummeled by Kingpin's flying face screen. I imagine having its aerial cavortings suddenly restricted by metal walls would result in violent pinballing.
I still maintain that Alcatraz is a terrible choice for a secret hideaway even if it is underground or underwater. The amount of secret planning needed to pull it off is simply staggering.
I'm with you JPX, regarding DD standing in the boat. I'm not sure why it annoys me so much but here we are.
