Horrorthon Countdown Challenge Day 9! What is this thing you call "Internet?"

Good morning! I slept in today, which never happens anymore. Thanks to Julie for that!

Today's challenge/discussion group is a variation on my periodic "What Are You Watching?" posts. What Are You Surfing, my scary pals? What are your go-to websites? What do you have bookmarked? What new sites have you found, or rediscovered?

TELL US EVERYTHING.

(You can leave out the porn.)

I said that like I was going to lead off with an encyclopedia of my bookmarks bar, but Zack is trying to climb in my lap so I can use the computer to take pictures of him and his Ninjago pajamas. So I'll get the ball rolling with one and come back later.

I found The Comics Curmudgeon back when we did those newspaper strip fill-in-the-talking-balloons contests. I recently did "search by strip" for Archie and spent a few days reading Josh's posts all the way back to 2006 or so. I had several laugh out loud moments. His sense of humor is rivalled only by the breadth of comic strip characteristics he finds to mock: characterization, lack of plot, bizarre artistic choices to convey dubious jokes, or just plain old bad art. He nails it.

RCP for daily updates on the presidential election. I like the interactive electoral maps, which really show you just how shitty it's looking for Romney.

Ooh, I like it. Although it's amazing to see how polarized everything is by looking at the titles of the linked articles.

Aww, jeez Landshark. Now I feel kind of lame talking about how I'm addicted to Cracked, Buzzfeed and The Chive. (Although The Chive has a lot of pictures of chicks that gets a bit old.) Basically, I like those sites that you can read one article and then just keep clicking and clicking and clicking on things that are also on the site.
On Fridays I like to check out EW and Rotten Tomatoes for the new movie reviews, occasionally I'll also check out Roget Ebert's site - but I find that he is somewhat "spoil-y" with his reviews.

lately its been a combination of Cracked, Bleacher Report, FB and Linkedin (in no particular order)

lord, i'm boring. the only websites i check daily are boston.com (for the headlines), horrorthon, and facebook. occasionally i'll follow some celebrity gossip item but i don't have a go-to celeb gossip site.

I find following politics these days to be way more frivolous than Cracked. I feel dirty and dumber each time I stop by one of those Sunday morning talk shows.

So RCP is purely for time wasting nonsense, playing with the fun map tool when I should be doing something productive like reading comic books.

My bookmarks include Khan Academy and other typical teacher stuff.

More exciting links include Democracy Now!, Cookie A's knitting website, and this other site I peruse where a bunch of people talk about scary movies during the month of October.

Haha, Crystal! That totally made me smile!

I've been real internet boring lately but on the flip side I've been pretty life exciting. I've been attending fairs and festivals of all sorts with our very own Abuscias and our bitter halfs. I do make time for my daily page visits though which include Deviant Art, 1 sale a day & of course Horrorthon.

I’m constantly on the CNN website to ensure that Obama is still ahead in the polls. I also frequent “Celebitchy”, a website that skewers Hollywood in a really mean way, which is a guilty pleasure. Also, I love Dinosaur Dracula (formally X-Entertainment) and sciencedaily.com (to balance out the fluff).

been checking cracked every day for the new articles. and i check out whatever my friends are posting on facebook.

also i check lakingsinsider.com every single day. i'm not linking it because it's hockey and what do you care?*

there's a lockout going on, so it looks like there isn't going to be any hockey for a while. so with no news to speak of, i'm pretty much checking the site out of habit more than anything else. but, Cracked. yay.

* - my team *did* win the cup this year, for the first time ever. that ought to make you at least momentarily think, "wow fitty. good for you." because it *is* good for me.
