Wow, fantastic and weird article! Back in the 70s whenever we visited my aunt Nell she always had a pile of old Archie Comics, no doubt left over from my father's younger siblings. I used to read and re-read them whenever I was there. It doesn't take Freud to see why I have been reading these dumb comics for the past 35 years. Despite my (purported) knowledge of the Archie universe I was never aware of this side of Archie. I suspect that these old non-PC stories are no longer reprinted.
Thanks for posting this Octo! Archie comics has tried (very successfully I might add) to sweep their old material that would be deemed offensive by today's standards under the carpet. When they reprint "classic" stories they frequently alter the words to make it sanitized for today's readers and omit stories like the ones Cracked referred to altogether.
Afterlife With Archie is incredible btw.
I never did like Archie but now I'm intrigued.
