I'm tired of Oliver Stone movies

Why am I already annoyed by this movie?

I'm not. I thoroughly support everything he does. More power to him. Seriously. And I think this one looks good.

I'll grant Nixon was badly written. But JFK was great and unfairly criticized by people who don't know what they're talking about. As someone who's spent a lot of time studying the Kennedy assasination I thorougly admire Stone's movie. And Platoon and Born on the Fourth were brilliant, searing, necessary movies (although Platoon has some aesthetic failings).

Our country desperately needs the Michael Moores and the Oliver Stones, no matter how relentlessly "the man" tries to tear them down and discredit them.

Now we can get into an uncomfortable and inconclusive political debate if we want, thanks to me :)

Oh don't get me wrong, I like Stone's films as well. I guess I'm just tired of the 9/11 topic. I can't wait for Moore's next film where he takes on the pharmacutical industry. You forgot to mention The Doors. That film actually got me into The Doors' music.

Okay, fair enough. I'm not tired of the 9/11 topic so much as I'm thoroughly tired of the "heroes of the heroes on the day of heroes" jingoistic solemn tone. There's just too much mystery and weirdness about that day. If anyone's going to make the right movie (uneasy, surreal, and politically incendiary) it'd be Stone. "Speculative advance praise" I guess.

He lost me with Natural Born Killers.

Come on! "Any Given Sunday!"

Fantastic movie, made before it was "okay" to like Jamie Foxx in a dramatic role.

Didn't see it. I was never much of fan, and he really lost me with Natural Born Killers. You showed me the opening of Any Given Sunday once, I didn't take to it.

My brother was an extra in the football game in Any Given Sunday. I actually liked Natural Born Killers. I like Jordan's comment, "I'm thoroughly tired of the "heroes of the heroes on the day of heroes" - yes, exactly what I was thinking!
