I like the shot of the captain's tub. It says he had a choice between fresh and salt water -- why would one ever bathe in salt water? You'd just need another bath afterwards.
I imagine relaxing in that tub and never considering it will one day (soon) be filled with murky debris.
Wasn't that joke in the movie? The submersible's robot camera floats through a stateroom into the W. C. and the guy says, "Somebody left the water running!"
