i had a girlfriend once who was very fond of the Owl and the Pussycat, and made a sincere show of reciting it to me once.
i had to pretend i wasn't snickering on the inside with each recitation of "what a wonderful pussy you are, you are."
it's funny -- the word "gay" still occasionally retains some of its original meaning, when someone's using it for the sake of going vintage.
nobody uses "pussy" in the vintage sense without being 100% aware of its slang implications.
