A Good Marriage

(2014) ***

For years a serial killer named “Beadie” has been torturing and murdering young women throughout greater Maine. When Bob, a numismatist, goes away for a long weekend in pursuit of new coins for his business, his wife, Darcy, discovers her husband’s dark secret. While rummaging through an old box in the garage she finds several BDSM magazines. Digging further she finds a small box containing the driver’s licenses of all the murdered girls.

Over the summer I re-read most of Stephen King’s short stories in a massive binge after realizing that I hadn’t read a lot of them in decades. Boy do they hold up. I read “A Good Marriage” not realizing that it was coming out as a film. The film is a faithful adaptation of King’s original story and worth checking out. The production is more on par with a Lifetime movie than a cinematic experience and I didn’t care for Darcy, who is portrayed as a bit of an ice queen, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I also discovered “Gramma” was recently adapted and checked it out. Review coming soon.

How exciting, can't wait to see this and Gramma. His books are always so much better than the film adaptations though.

I too, would like to know how the story is in book form. Although I realize this comment is coming pretty late.
