Wait until dark

(1967) ****

Susy Hendrix is a recently blinded woman, trying to cope gracefully with her new limitations so as not to be a burden on her husband Sam.  Sam returns from a trip with a doll he is holding for a strange woman. Unbeknownst to Sam and Suzy, the doll contains packets of heroin.  The doll goes missing, and several interested parties develop an elaborate con to force Suzy to give back the doll.

This thriller was so much fun: twisty, original plot, great actors, touches of humor. Roger Ebert famously criticized the movie as having an "idiot plot" because the main character makes a couple of poor decisions. True, but if you can get past that shortcoming, the movie delivers plenty of genuine suspense with a fab 60s vibe.

I love this movie - I think my mother introduced me to it because she's a big Audrey fan. You outdid yourself this year, AC!

I vaguely remember this film but it's been many years since I saw it. Sounds like it needs to go on my re watch list.
