A REALITY SHOW WHERE THE LOSERS DIE

From WWTDD, A new Dutch reality TV show called the "Big Donor Show" will debut tonight and the contestants are three terminally ill patients with kidney disease. The winner gets a new kidney. The losers, presumably, die. Now that's a TV show!!!

Step aside Big Brother housemates - three dying contestants competing for a donated kidney will plunge reality television to fresh lows this week.A terminally ill cancer patient will gift one of her kidneys to one of three recipients chosen by a television audience, in a bizarre Dutch program.Viewers will watch video clips depicting the three "contestants" chatting about their lives - and then will vote via text message to literally save one.The identities of the would-be recipients will be kept secret until the program airs, but it is known all are Dutch, and aged between 18 and 40.Donor Lisa, 37, is believed to have wanted to establish a connection with the recipient of her organ rather than donating anonymously. She reportedly agreed to participate in the reality program after failing to decide on a suitable recipient herself.

Instead of a bunch of talking they should have one of the guys on a motorcycle and he jumps through a hoop of fire over a shark tank. Everyone will agree that he should win. How did he do that!

Oh, come on, the losers are gonna die anyway. Shouldn’t this be “A Reality Show Where the Winner Lives?”

So is the hottie the donor? What’s with the mostly naked? Must be some Dutch thing.

Didn’t the book The Running Man predict all this? By which I mean people’s lives being directed by game shows. In my cynical moments I just think this is a natural effect of overpopulation; as resources get more strained the value of a human life is automatically lessened.

But yeah, this sucks. Someday we’ll look back and it will have turned out Real World was the sigma event that ruined the real world.

Sorry to say it: this was kind of a hoax. It was a publicity stunt to draw attention to some organ-donor drama happening in Holland. All the contestants were in on it.

Damn those wily Dutch!

Or is this just how they soften us up -- present it as a joke so we get used to the idea. SNL had a mock commercial for a 3-track razor blade once back in the 70's, you know.

Although I'm having trouble figuring out the sinister part of that one.
