Heath Ledger Hangs Himself--For A Role In Terry Gilliam's New Film, 'The Imagination of Doctor Parnassus'
From iwatchstuff, Sorry for the overly-descript headline, but I noticed Just Jared took a lot of flack for titling his post "Heath Ledger Hangs Himself", causing many startled readers to initially assume the actor had committed suicide.
Anyway, here it is: the first shot from The Imagination of Dr. Parnassus. If you ask me, Terry Gilliam shot himself in the foot by choosing such a lofty title for his film; besides being hard to say and remember, it's bound to be confused with the universally-panned Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. And with the director reteaming with one of his Brothers Grimm leads, you have to wonder if Matt Damon is dead to him or what. Of course, it's no wonder we don't see the star of Fear and Loathing in the credits; Johnny Depp killed himself to shoot The Man Who Killed Don Quixote only for the film to get scrapped.
Dr. Parnassus, set for a 2009 release, also stars Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Verne Troyer, Andrew Garfield, and Lily Cole, all of whom have committed suicide.
