Every time I hear of this movie I think of that damn Phish song of the same name.
"OOOOOOOOHHHHH to be Prince Caspian, and sail along the sea..." Shaddup Phish. We're only here for the drugs... is what someone might say.
I like the mask in the bottom picture.
That song was the direct catalyst for the Worst Night Of My Life. It went on for something like 27 minutes, but in my own personal timeline, it was 3 hours.
Never took (insert favorite hallucinogenic here) again.
And didja know C.S. Lewis, who wrote all the Narnia stuff, always snuck iin subtle (and not-so-subtle) Christian propaganda to his books? Interesting counterpoint to Phillip Pullman and The Golden Compass...good vs. evil, but who's on which side, I ask you?
The first time I ever heard of Phish was from a guy telling a story about getting hassled by a security guard at a Phish show. Having never heard of the band, I thought he meant a fish show, like a flower show for fish.
So I was all "yeah, that guard was a nutter!" even more than the people who knew what was going on.
It looks like they jazzed up this story some from the book, which is fine by me. It was always my least favorite.
I've heard the Christian propaganda factoid often, but I've read some of those books recently and they seem less churchy than, say, a lot of Peanuts cartoons.
Well there's the whole lion = Jesus thingy going on in those films including his resurrection in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe".
Every time I hear it, I think of the unmentionable thing I was doing at the precise moment this song was playing at a Phish show I went to in Florida on New Years Eve 1999...regrets.
Wait, Jesus was a lion?
The lion is Jesus in those books - hence the whole death/rebirth stuff. The series is very religious.
I don't want to know Whirlygirl.
I was never going to tell you JPX.
