A Figure of Inspiration

[picture removed due to daily humiliation]

Since the original picture I posted for this was flagrantly censored, this one will have to do.

I have a proposal for next year that I don't expect any one to support but here it is anyway. We introduce a new point system to spruce up the competition. That's right, a point system. Ok, so you get one point for each movie. Additionally, there are bonus points to be had, similar to a scavenger hunt. Examples:

1) The earliest movie watched earns +3 points.
2) If you watch a complete series of movies (5 or more movies must be involved) = +5 points
3) If you watch at least one movie for each decade starting from the 30's = +5
4) Other stuff too

Congratulations again to JPX for winning the Horrorthon by using the clever strategy of watching more movies than his competitors.

How about if you watch a movie you've seen before zero points?

I like "other stuff" the best.

Hmmmmm... That's good, maybe a half point if you've seen it before?

Less points should also be awarded to any film under 80 minutes.

Check out this banned Hills Have Eyes 2 poster - http://www.eatmybrains.com/shownews.php?id=791

Banned poster = half point.

First, let me say that the JPX action fig photo is sublime. Nice work, Summerisle.

Second...I don't know, maybe a point system is a good idea. But no half points for real, that would get too crazy.

I do like the simplicity of the current Horrorthon contest, however.

Yeah I was envisioning Summerisle's point system somewhere down the road when the polish of the current contest loses its shine.

We could do a "total body count" score, although hordes of zombies don't count.

Johnny Sweatpants said...

Yes, this raises a whole slew of complexities. Zombies don't count as part of the "body count" but what about when the human turns into a zombie, no longer existing as a human. Uh-oh...

And the point system was just a thought. If it were to be implemented, the rules would need to be thoroughly agreed upon. I envision a lot of red tape...

Red tape? Like in Pulse? That's a point.

Points for starting longest comment threads

"Points for starting longest comment threads"

I think you'd take it every time, Jordan!

Re: the figure. If I spent more time on it, I would have included accessories - a bowl of popcorn, salt shaker, remote control.

If these point rules (I like the longest thread one too) were in effect this year, Octo may have pulled ahead of JPX. He did have the complete Chainsaw series as well as his zombie roundup (Night, Dawn, Day, Dawn remake (does this count?), Land.

I'm not done posting reviews yet!

The "action figure" is fucking hilarious!

Thanks, those are Greedo's boots!

JPX said...

Thanks God, I was really worried that those were my feet. That fat body can't possibly be me.

Yeah, it was from a joke picture a few years back, your left arm is around my back. I had to create your left arm (copied/reversed the right) and make your lower legs from your thighs.

If this were a horror movie, you would then kidnap JPX and alter him to fit your photoshop version. And then put him in a blister card.
