Hmm. They've got the right idea, but why can't they go fully retro? The aesthetics of the original show are so precise and cool. And what's with the translucent blue covers on the warp engines? What are those supposed to be, curved glass? Or "energy"? I don't get it.
I'm with you. They should've just used the Enterprise from the DS9 Tribbles ep. The exposed blueness seems too tied in to the designs of later. The ship history dictates a lack of glowing blue stuff on the engines at least through the first two movies.
Besides that detail, I'm pretty down with the design.
yeah i would've cared more if they were triangually like the star wars ones. Triangles are pretty.
