2012 selective geek calendar

Sherlock (Season 2) January 1st
Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace 3D February 10th
Mad Men (Season 5) March 25th
Titanic 3D April 6th
The Avengers May 4th
Prometheus June 8th
The Amazing Spider-Man July 3rd
The Dark Knight Rises July 20th
Skyfall November 9th
The Hobbit December 14th

Not bad, huh? A lot of long bets pay off this year. (Yes, Sherlock has already started. I couldn't believe it either.) The last six movies on the list are pretty breathtaking. Am I missing anything?

Although it’s not your cup of tea I don’t believe any geek calendar would be complete without the inclusion of The Expendables 2 (August 17th). It’s silly stuff, for sure, but an action movie featuring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger must be acknowledged as geek nirvana for a few of us.

Where the hell is everyone???

thanks jordan! mr. ac and i thought "a scandal in belgravia" was great. have you seen it yet, and if so, what did you think?

anyone else looking forward to the season premiere of archer (jan 19th 10 pm)?

I'm so out of touch with TV (I recently got rid of cable) that I've never heard of Sherlock or Archer.

I really liked Scandal in Belgravia although I admit I didn't really understand the ending.

I'm watching The Hounds of Baskerville now...it's really good, except that I'm getting tired of Holmes being such a dick to his clients. Doyle's Holmes was never less than faultlessly polite to his customers (even when he thought they were idiots).

That list is getting me pumped up! God I hope The Avengers delivers.

When is Man of Steel coming out ?

Man of Steel is next year. I suspect Walking Dead Season 3 is next year also.

Wow, I didn't realize the new season of Sherlock had begun.

To add to any nerd list (or at least my personal one):

Game of Thrones, Season 2 - April
John Carter - March 9
Lincoln - December (not really nerd-worthy, but man, Speilberg directed Day-Lewis with a crazy good cast around him...)
