Where is Octopunk?

Aww. How fortuitous that I was just sitting down to catch up on blog comments. Here's the three-part answer:

The two weeks prior to this one I was doing a small job making models for the American Ballet Theater. Their new production will have stop-motion elements projected on a fifty foot screen behind the dancers. While I had some help, for most of the job it was me on my own and it wound up being much more labor intensive than anyone anticipated, myself included. I worked the Saturday in between, and there were four nights that I stayed in the shop past midnight. Exhausting.

This past weekend Julie had a writing deadline, and after she shouldered all the stuff I wasn't around to do it was crucial that she get as much time as possible. I had Zack most of the weekend and both Friday and Saturday nights I went downstairs planning to blog and fell asleep on the couch almost immediately.

Added to that, we've been trying to find a better preschool for Zack (long story in itself, which I'm going to skip here). Every morning when he gets up he says "no school" within the first five minutes. Sometimes it's the first thing out of his mouth. Anyway, stressful. But we're making progress there.

It's nice to be missed! I do read all the posts but it often takes me a while to watch videos or leave comments. I don't like to do either of those things on my iPhone and I don't have a job with a desk and computer. I have to really carve out the time. Right now I should be folding laundry, actually, so I best get to some of these posts...

Anyone see Chronicle? Me neither.

That ABT thing sounds great! How did you get that, anyway? (I'm always interested in the mysteries of how freelancers get new gigs.)

The outfit that produced Mary Shelley's Frankenhole found it and they called me to do it. I may have earned myself a rep for delivering on a project even if it kills me, which obviously might not be a good thing.

I just finally posted on Whirly's birthday post and remembered that I blognored 50P's birthday (although Zack did pick out an awesome Hot Wheels car for him).

I either love "blognored" or hate it. I haven't decided yet.

i think i like "blognored" but i prefer it more as a word for something that might happen in a Tolkien novel.
