Gone in an instant
From AICN, “Robogeek sent me a heads up that David Goyer, via his MySpace page... has announced his departure from THE FLASH movie. That Goyer was proud of his script, makes me sad - because when David is on, like he was on his GHOST RIDER script or BATMAN BEGINS... he's firing on all pistons. Oh well, guess I'll listen to Elfman's FLASH theme and dream of the big screen FLASH eventualities...
Well, I've been waiting a few months to relate this news -- but I am sad to say that my version of The Flash is dead at WB. The God's honest truth is that WB and myself simply couldn't agree on what would make for a cool Flash film. I'm quite proud of the screenplay I turned it. I threw my heart into it and I genuinely think it would've been the basis of a ground-breaking film. But as of now, the studio is heading off in a completely different direction. I expect you'll hear of some new developments on that front shortly.
But in happier news, I'll soon be able to report on what I've been doing INSTEAD of The Flash. Stay tuned.”

Finding the vibe for a Flash movie sounds difficult. You don't want to just rehash the epic, primal tone of Superman or Batman, but the "street" tone has been all but co-opted by Marvel.
However, if they figure it out they could do some cool stuff with his powers.
