King of Kong

From worstpreviews, New Line is moving forward on its feature adaptation of "The King of Kong," a documentary about rivals battling for supremacy in video game "Donkey Kong."The company has hired Michael Bacall (Manic) to script. Picturehouse won rights at Slamdance to distribute the documentary in theaters this summer, while sister company New Line has remake rights and control of film's distribution rights outside North America.

New Line is fast-tracking the feature adaptation, with the original's director, Seth Gordon, attached to helm and Ed Cunningham set as exec producer.The documentary is set to hit theaters on August 17th, in limited release.

Wait, is this movie about two guys fighting for the high score of Donkey Kong, or is it about that big ape's long battle with Mario?
