From moviesonline, The Killing Floor (2006) : A literary agent moves into a penthouse apartment. Soon after the move, he receives crime scene photographs that seem to have taken place in his new apartment. Next he receives a series of stalker videotapes that document his every move.

Well, who wouldn't kill for a view like that?
This reminds me of a book submission my friends in Viking Books (for grownups) received when I was working downstairs in the Children's Books department. It was from this woman who'd had a number of crazy, unfortunate experiences in her life, like a couple heart attacks and a pair of car collisions. All of it sounded pretty bad but still in the realm of the reasonable, until you got to the last item on the list:
"Mysterious agents have been following me and making a movie of my life for the past ten years."
We responded that we'd wait to see how the movie did.
(Not really, but we wanted to.)
Here's an excerpt from a patient note I wrote today,
When asked about her psychosis she stated, “It’s really scary. I feel that since 1992 that I’m being followed by a group of doctors and the US government. I feel like I’m a rat in a cage and that they’re testing different medications and they want to see my reaction. They want to see what I say and what I do. They monitor me wherever I go. I’m never alone; the doctors are always there. It’s not just a small group of doctors; it’s the US government too. I feel everywhere I go, even when I go to the bathroom or take a shower, or make love, or when I go to the store, [I'm being monitored]. I feel like I’m being monitored constantly and I will be for the rest of my life until I die. The most thing that’s distressing is when I go out in the environment and I see normal gestures like someone brushing their hair and I interpret them as signals, as a reminder that I’m being followed and that they’re going to drive me crazy.” She acknowledged that she believed that I was part of this conspiracy. She reported, “I had a second breakdown June 30th. Yesterday I did not leave the house. I’m afraid to leave the house because the symptoms are so [prevalent]. Now I’m starting to have auditory hallucinations. I hear sirens when I’m at home in my bedroom. Other nights when I’m sleeping I hear noise like a TV that’s on and I hear people talking. I don’t know what they’re saying but it’s like there’s a television in my room. When I turn on my light the noise goes away. Sometimes I hear bugs in my pillow.”
So when are you and your fellow conspirators going to release some of that footage?
That sucks. Poor woman. Although I can't help notice the egoism in delusions like that. Obviously she's dreadfully unhappy, but it's probably easier on some level to think you're the subject of a conspiracy instead of thinking you're just lonely.
