The dark tale revolves around a U.S. government project gone awry that turn a group of experimental subjects -- condemned inmates plucked from death row -- into highly infectious vampires. Darn those pesky government experiments! They're always going awry. They should require a "going awry" impact statement for all new proposals starting now.
What about the experiments that don't go awry? How come you never hear about them? "Heck, senator, me and my team have had a working death squad of intelligent werewolves contained in an underground facility for the past eight years, haven't been a lick of trouble."
