I should have watched Timecop. (not really.) I lasted until about 11pm. Kind of a yawner, really. Anne Hathaway and James Franco were especially lame hosts.
It's a lot easier to watch it on the West Coast, I find. There wasn't anything particularly notably amazing besides that one actress saying "fuck." But, notably, there wasn't anything particularly embarrasingly horrible (several years' worth of Debbie Allen choreographed dance numbers, I'm looking at you).
I was pleased with some of the results. I thought Inception deserved it for visual effects, cinematography and sound design, and nothing else (sound editing, whatever).
I was psyced that Alice in Wonderland won for production design and costumes, because I always think an environment from the imagination is more impressive than recreating a specific time and place.
In 2004 Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events was nominated for both, and lost both to The Aviator, which pissed me off.
Van Damme movies, huh? Sure, I'll fight about it:
The only good part of Timecop is when Ron Silver gets pushed into his past self.
I didn't watch Time Cop but I didn't watch the oscars either.
