Jenifer

(2006) ***

Jenifer is Dario Argento's depraved addition to Showtime's intriguing Masters of Horror series.  (Octo reviewed Takashi Miike's submission previously.)  The story begins when Detective Spivey saves a handcuffed, horribly disfigured blonde from a butcher knife-wielding loon-job.  He invites the full-bodied victim into his home as she is mute and she seemingly has nowhere else to go.   But there's something veeeeeeeery wrong with big-breasted Jenifer and yet the cop cannot get her out of his mind.  If I'm focusing on her sexuality, it's only because she's extremely horny and she bares her breasts at every available opportunity.   Spivey finally succumbs to her advances and has freaky sex with her (three different times).  But there's more to Jenifer than meets the eye and by the time the detective awakes from his penis-fueled haze, he is faced with a bloody trail of carnage.

Example:

I was going to say that Argento is the only person who could probably pull off such - for lack of a better word - "gornography", but I'm still not sure that he actually did pull it off.

Jenifer clocks in at a lean 58 minutes, which is about as much as one could take of this debauchery.
