From moviesonline, "I am sure that some of you must remember who the Hardy Boys are. Admittedly I read some of the books as a kid. They are novels about two young men who solved crimes, took on the perils of the world, and pretty much were the counter-parts for the whole Nancy Drew fad.
Well according to CinemaFusion and TMZ Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise are reportedly going to take on the roles. I am sure that you are now all saying "what are you talking about they are to old". But of course there is an answer for that, they will play OLD Hardy Boy's. What a horrible idea."

Yuck! This sounds like taking the far-too-self-aware humor vibe of Starsky and Hutch and adding Tom Cruise to it. Maybe there'll even be footage of him and Ben Stiller sitting around and laughing like Tom did with J. J. Abrams.
Figures, though. If he's following his old pattern, Ben Stiller's got to work off the good will Night at the Museum is bringing him, and it's bringing so much it'll probably take two crappy movies to work it off.
Oh yeah, there's the Focker movie. That oughta do it
