"Superman" Sequel Not Next for Singer

From worstpreviews, During several interviews director Bryan Singer has promised to begin work on the "Superman Returns" sequel as soon as he is done with his current project, "Valkyrie." But according to his producers, Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, Singer is lined up to direct "The Major of Castro Street," a story of gay rights activist Harvey Milk, within a year.

"The next Superman, that's a ways off," said Meron to RottenTomatoes.

Zadan added: "Don't worry about it. Trust me. We may even start preproduction on Harvey Milk while he's on post production on the Tom Cruise movie."

The duo is determined to make their movie. "We've been working on that for 15 years," said Meron. "It started off with Oliver Stone and Robin Williams. Now it's Bryan Singer directing, Chris McQuarrie writing the script."The "Superman Returns" sequel was said to begin shooting early next year, but if the producers are correct, we might not see it for a while.
