This is so effed up. I just read this script, which I got hold of through a teacher at school. (It took her like ten minutes. I love that.) So....I wrote parts of this script a year ago. And apparently, so did Michael McCullers. The plot of my script is different--single mom gets pregnant and then meets a guy while pregnant. But I swear, the jokes, the love interest, the main character's arc--all the same. So my script goes in a drawer, and I was just on draft five! Dangit.

The weird thing is that I was so preoccupied with another script like this, which I was sort of following the progress off. I knew who was attached, but there wasn't money, blah blah blah. And then a few months ago, this woman I know told me she was doing punchup on Baby Mama. Because of the title, I panicked and Googled it. Once I found out it was about surrogacy, I thought I was safe. But I did not anticipate that this writer would be like my long lost twin brother, in terms of set up and character. And actual lines of dialogue. Okay, so I'm unoriginal. I just have to learn to be unoriginal and FIRST.
same thing happened to my sister-in-law, twice. she has given up writing scripts. :(
Bummer!! Jeez, that really sucks. Still, I'm sure yours is better.
Did your script include fat guys protesting in KISS makeup? 'Cuz it should have.
