Kevin Smith Gets A Porno Site

From cinemablend, Kevin Smith has a porno site, and it’s rated X. It’s the official site for his heavily anticipated new movie Zack and Miri Make a Porno. The movie stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks making amateur pornography. Don’t expect to see Rogen’s penis though. At least I hope we won’t see Rogen’s penis. Hey Kev, can we get some sort of guarantee on that?

In the meantime, the movie’s official site is right here, and right now it’s pretty barren. Kevin’s plastered pictures of a few of the things in this world that he loves most (Parker Posey and Hayden Panettiere are featured prominently), but there’s no real content from the movie yet. Rest assure that at some point, there will be. The movie doesn’t open until October 31st, so they have plenty of time to add all the useless MySpace widgets and buddy icons you people so crave.

I actually enjoyed Clerks II, I thought it was cute.

Clerks 2 (2002)I didn't like it as much as JPX. Raunchy but not funny and way too long.

Jersey Girl (2004) An abomination

J & Silent Bob Strike Back (2001) Decent.

Dogma (1999)Don't remember.

Chasing Amy (1997)Ruined by that girls annoying voice.

Mallrats (1995) Love it.

Clerks (1994)Love it.

I'm with you on Chasing Amy, I despised that chick from the first frame. She needed a good kick in the teeth.

Ok, that explains it, as I didn't see Clerks II.

My last two experiences of Smith are Jersey Girl and some horrendous movie set in Boulder with Jennifer Garner. Seriously, I think some folks were sitting around and said, "Hey, Boulder fucking rocks. We should make a movie there." I don't think they ever got beyond that point in terms of character development or story.

Clerks and Mallrats are classics, for sure. Dogma I liked a lot at the time--I feel like it isn't the type that will hold up over time.

Jay and Silent Bob...kinda hated that one.

I liked Clerks a lot, Mallrats not so much. I always thought he'd made one overlong script, took all the good jokes and made Clerks and then used the rest of the jokes for Mallrats.

I liked Chasing Amy okay, her voice didn't bother me but I can't argue with anyone whom it did.

I thought Dogma was great. "You Catholics don't celebrate your faith, you mourn it."

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is uneven but it cracked me the hell up. Shannon Elizabeth to Jay as she's getting hauled away by the cops: "Will you wait for me?" Jay: "What, here?"

I saw Jersey Girl on a plane or something; it is horrible. I think Kevin Smith actually apologized for it later, like he did for Mallrats. He sticks a picture of his just-deceased Dad at the start of the end credits and I always assumed he was too knocked over with grief to have his head together. Makes for a bummer dedication.

I loved Clerks 2. There's another line of Jay's in that which had me howling with laughter, but if I quote it I could ruin stuff.

Smith's turns as Silent Bob are also great. He's a hilarious comedic actor and it's all with gestures and expressions, which is pretty rare. Were I to teach a class on animation I'd include examples of those performances as excellent physical humor.

(2024) ***1/2 Is a movie that's *trying* to be Stupid And Annoying, and succeeds at being both, therefore a good movie? It really depend...
