I can't get past the two minute mark. That is so horrible. Luke saying, "try to enjoy your life day!" was pretty hilarious though.

Try watching the whole special DCD! Your brain will melt, your eyes will glaze over and you'll find yourself staring at the carpet.

I somehow watched the entire 5 minutes and 26 seconds. I want to set fire to Chewbacca's entire family. Is that wrong?

Good grief! I just watched the whole thing. For an abridged version it seemed like Carrie Fisher singing went on for about three and a half hours.

I know it's an obvious dig, but it's so endemic of the whole thing: here you have one of the most colossal brands ever made in its early days of bursting forth, and because it's the 70's somebody said "let's do a variety show!" Because that's what you did. And looking at Luke and Han and Leia in this weird "in character/so not in character" mode with all that makeup slathered on their faces... man, the suits of the day just didn't get it.

i sorta watched it while doing other things. feeling revulsion and disbelief but also a sick compulsion to obtain and watch the complete special. it seems life-alteringly bad in the way "the room" is, and i'm a sucker for that shit.

It's difficult, AC. I've tried to watch it many times over the years and inevitably I find myself scanning through it. Although we tend to over-use the term, this is one movie that's truly "unwatchable".

thanks jpx. i showed the clip to mr. ac and he is grimly determined that we at least give it a shot.
