"The Double-Crossing Monster" is unnerving

From the Horrorthon Archives (circa 1957): "' Terrifying,' according to the New York Herald Tribune, although opinions vary. The titular monster is indeed menacing, thanks in large measure to its obvious untrustworthiness, leading to set-piece scenes of violence like that depicted on the cover. 'Not for the faint of heart,' insist the publishers."

Oh my God, that's the funniest thing I've seen and read in a while! I love the idea of "horrorthon archives". we should do a Horrorthon some year that only focuses on films from 1900-1950 and pretend that no modern films exist.

I remember this book! I read it in college. I recall a heated discussion I started about why the people in the novel keep trusting the monster initially, setting themselves up for the inevitable double-cross. Then, despite the protection money I'd shelled out, the monster came into the room and smacked me one on the head.

It really is exceptionally difficult to defeat the monster. Keeping track of all the double-crosses can make you dizzy, too!

I thought that was a picture of Grimace from McDonalds.

And JPX, if you want to spend an entire month watching black & white horror, you're on your own!
