Yeah, some Clive Barker nonsense. Probably from the Books of Blood. The ending is likely some cabalistic shocker that's really more confusing than anything else.
What's nice about the subways these days is, with that special metal they have, all the graffiti and bloody handprints come right off when they clean the cars up in the switchyard.
