New Heavy Metal Film in the Works
From moviesonline, I'm sure some of you are familiar with some of the previous Heavy Metal films which were full of dragons, chicks, muscles and swords. Well today Variety has announced that David Fincher is attached to direct a segment in a new Heavy Metal film. The film is based on the magazine of the same name that is stamped by the erotic and violent storylines and images that remain the trademark of a magazine that debuted in the U.S. in 1977.
This film will consist of eight or nine different animated segments that will all be directed by different directors. Kevin Eastman (Creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and current owner and publisher of the magazine) and Tim Miller will direct two of the other segments. Now this is definitely getting interesting!
Don't worry about the studio going soft on this film either. They already have the film being conceived as an "R-rated, adult themed" feature. It is about damn time they started making cartoons for adults again! Right now my hope is that they bring aboard someone like Rob Zombie who has a little experience after finishing up work on his own adult cartoon El Superbeasto.

I was thinking "meh" until I read David Fincher's name. This could be good. Maybe the Animatrix mojo is finally kicking in.
