Yummy!

I just had my first Cadbury Creme Egg of the Easter season. And it was deeeeeee-licious. So I decided to take a poll:
Cadbury Creme Eggs - Love 'em or Hate 'em?
PS - And if the CCE is not for you - what IS your favorite Easter candy?

Love 'em! My favorite candy for Easter is Robin's Eggs (basically Whoppers).

LOVE!

Oooh - I love those too JPX. Really, other than black licorice, I don't think there is any kind of candy I don't like.

I used to love Cadbury eggs, it was my thing and all. But now I'm so Californian that I won't go near that high-fructose corn syrup poison death cocktail. Why not just eat out of a dumpster?

I'll stick with my delicious Dagoba organic chocolate thank you very much. Best on the planet. For more information on Dagoba:

Dagoba is like pressed chalk, but that's nice for you.

I used to totally love the Cadbury Cream Egg, but somewhere along the line I lost my taste for them. Every couple of years I re-prove this to myself by trying one and being disappointed.

HowEVER, I think my current fave are the Cadbury Mini Eggs, which in concept don't seem all that far from an M&M, but are somehow special and awesome.

JSP, it's okay to indulge once in a while, you'll live!

which is the more divisive candy: CCE's or peeps?

You don't understand, I consider Dagoba indulgant. Comparing it to chalk is like comparing lobster to rubber Sigh. Sometimes I don't know why I bother...

Peeps are quite possibly the most horriffic substance ever created by man.

I used to love Cadbury eggs. My grandparents gave me three every Easter and I would eat them with a spoon (this was after my mother allowed me to have sugar, or rather after I stopped believing her lie that sugar would make my teeth crumble out of my mouth on contact.) Now they are too sweet for me, but I'll sell my soul to the devil for any kind of peanut butter candy.

Hmmmmm, anything chocolate is A-OK with me, but the inside of the CCE still freaks me out a little.
As for JSP, I am gonna pick you up the next time I am in SF, take ya shootin' at the range, than out for ribs and beer (no wine allowed) and now I will add some decadent dessert to the day...
Don't buy into the Cali hype man, you might live longer, but why would you want to?

You've got yourself a deal mister! I just rediscovered the joys of beer in recent weeks. Speaking of which, happy St. Patty's Day everybody. Now let's tie one on in solidarity with the Irish!

Julie's favorite candy:

malt balls (so Robin's Eggs will be okay for me!)
Hot Tamales
Sour Patch Kids
Jelly Bellies
Twizzlers (NOT Red Vines)

If you put a Hot Tamale inside a Twizzler, it is oh soooo delicious.

But more on the Cadbury egg. Once at a very weird party I was at, we did a chocolate taste test, and Cadbury turned out to be the best chocolate. I admit, Dagoba was not involved in the test. But I probably would eat Cadbury out of a dumpster. I mean, you can say you're all Cali, but do you really care about the environment if you can watch chocolate go to waste? I think not!

The wife is Swedish, and when her folks come over to visit they bring an extra suitcase for candy and jeans. I have actually been with them when the have purchased over a hundred dollars worth of Twizzlers, apparently they have socialized medicine and tall blondes but no Twizzlers....savages.

DKC said...

I'm on board with most of those Julie - although I can add Hot Tamales to the list of "not so much," never into those or hot balls of any kind.

miko - wouldn't your wife's family have access to amazing chocolate though??

Julie said...

OMG, I would not even make it across the Atlantic with that suitcase. All the Twizzlers would be gone before Sweden.

I don't think Octo even knows these are my favorite candies. I do not ever keep these things in the house. It's just not a good idea.

I'm so into "NOT red vines," although those are considered fighting words in certain parts of CA.

DCD -- are you maybe getting Switzerland (land of chocolate) confused with Sweden? That happens alot. The only candy they have in Sweden are those lame fish.

I'll admit I'm passing hasty judgement on the Dagoba, but Jules and I got a bar of it sometime last year and it was pretty blah (I forget what flavor it was, but it didn't say "blah" on the wrapper). Regardless, it comes from the swamp planet for which it is named, and every kid knows that Jedi mastery doesn't necessarily equal good chocolate.

Julie said...

Octo, if you are reading this, will you please bring home some malt balls and Twizzlers???

Actually DCD is correct. While the Swiss variety is better known, the Swedes make some killer milk chocolate. Though Octo is on to something, if you want to piss the Swedes off ask them about the mountains and milk-maids...they will scream at you that you are thinking of the Swiss, then you laugh...
