Salem's Lot 1979 and Salem's Lot 2024

Congrats Cat! I liked the whole group of these, I especially liked the major variations on the theme.
Ok, I just want to say that I was overwhelmed by the responses. I wanted to take people out of their comfort zone but all five of you seemed pretty damn comfortable – perhaps too comfortable? Seriously, all five did what I was trying to do in the intro better than the actual intro if that makes sense which it doesn’t. Miko, almost every sentence of yours dropped my jaw. I went back and forth about a hundred times and slept on it for 2 nights and this morning when I woke up Catfreeek seemed to make sense.
Now that I’ve had my coffee I’d like to retract my decision and pick Octopunk – no wait – Whirlygirl. Aaaaarggh!!!!
Kidding, congrats Catfreeek. Looking forward to seeing what you’ve got up your sleeve.
Holy Crap! I won? I thought sure it would go to Miko or Octo. I loved all 4 of the other writers endings but those two totally blew me away.
Thanks so much JSP and dammit you didn't leave me much time to think. I will have a new beginning posted by this evening, promise.
Thanks for the kind words. I've basically spent the whole weekend thinking I was way too graphic. I actually shocked the Swede. I don't think she could believe I would EVER actually post writing like that. Although she is fully aware I am chock-a-block with perversion...
Just so you know Cat, she liked yours the best herself (traitorous bitch).
BTW, I assume that anonymous was AC?
I thought anonymous was Stan. Hmmmm...they should reveal themselves.
no, i didn't submit. though if i had, given the topic and content, anonymous would've been a smart move, one that hadn't occurred to me.
bravo everyone who did post! they were really all great. after i scrapped my first two ideas because cat and whirly covered them, i had another idea to pick up where cat left off (gwen wouldn't have survived that one), but just ran out of time.
Congrats, Freeek!
So yes, Anonymous was in fact me. I KNEW I should've gotten more graphic and porn-heavy. Tom Robbins, I Am Legend, and my English degree took over, and I think I got way too creative. Should've stuck with Penthouse Forum meets Fangoria..
Darn it all.
Congrats, Cat! And I was equally entertained/severely disturbed by every entry. Every one of you was like Michaelangelo through a hockey mask, painting ghastly and brilliant pictures. I would NOT want to have been in Sweatpants' pants this week. Shoes.
(Fangforium?)
I was getting backed up on my audiobooks (I subscribe to audible.com) and wanted to pick something that was sure to hold my attention. I stumbled on The Best American Erotica 2008 which I would highly recommend (in audiobook form because the voices make it that much sexier). Anyway writing something with the specific goal of turning the reader on is much more difficult than it sounds but I wanted to give it a shot. I went with the horror theme for obvious reasons. The results exceeded all expectations.
I'm thinking of starting a separate blog to keep track of all of the Finish it Fridays to make it easier for everyone to go back and reread. Whaddya think?
That would be very cool JSP.
