Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding of the "spidey sense" is that it allows him to detect immediate physical danger in time to protect himself. Never have I seen him get it on behalf of another person and never has the spidey sense worked long distances. I swear that this comic strip is secretly written by Mary Worth herself.
If he did wear that half mask, I hope it would be complete with those wavy lines eminating from it. Spider sense!
That's kind of a ridiculous term, now that I think about it.
