Sam Raimi had previously crafted two of my favorite superhero movies and three of my favorite horror films so expectations were running pretty high, but the sad truth of it is too many villains and studio interference sank what should have been the best in the series. The iconic Spider-Man villain Venom is officially ruined, and although there’s talk of a spin-off about the character, all future interactions with the webbed avenger have been crushed. I have one question: Who at the studio saw the emo hair dance scene and said, “Yes, this is totally OK?” There’s a special brand of bullets for people like that.

I saw that too! JPX aka "cranky old man." Actually, Napoleon Dynamite eventually won me over, but I wasn't liking it in the beginning. Not something I would go to the mat for.
I would go to the mat for Harry Potter 6 and Die Another Day. I never liked Brosnan as Bond, I thought Goldeneye was tepid as Barrington tap water, and had more fun in Die than any of the others. Doesn't hold a candle to Casino Royale, of course, but there's an excellent fight/chase between two sports cars with hidden rocket launchers and ejector seats. In pre-reboot Bond, that counts as innovation.
Can anyone remind me what the big change in the ending of Half Blood Prince was? I can't figure it out.
It's interesting that you have that reaction to the Brosnan Bond movies, Octopunk. (Of course, it's not the first I've heard of this.) I remember trying to sell you on Goldeneye based solely on the Eric Serra score.
I liked Goldeneye but didn't really like any of the other Brosnan Bond movies. I would line up the Bond actors like this:
Bond as depicted by the most charismatic possible contemporary movie star, independent of other considerations: Sean Connery
Bond as pure fantasy/comic book caricature, in the campy manner of the Batman TV show: Roger Moore
Bond portrayed as closely as possible to Ian Flemming's written descriptions: Pierce Brosnan
Bond if there actually could be such a person in real life: Daniel Craig
I forgot:
Bond as smarmy wimp smirking at the camera: George Lazenby
I'm glad you went back and remarked on George Lazenby, he was a terrible Bond. I'm just thankful it was only one film.
