Haiku Hump Day Results....

...will have to wait until tonight. Not only is my job expecting me to actually do something these days, (jerks) I had no idea we would hit 100 on this topic! So I have my work cut out for me. In the meantime, feel free to enjoy this (kind of lame) video by Porno for Pyros - "Pets!"

Weird. I've loved that song since it came out (and ignored the band otherwise), and just now had a "THAT'S what that guy looks like?" moment.

Because he looks silly. Good song though.

I loved the band but had a similar moment. I've never seen them before.

DCD I don't envy you, that's a heck of a lot of posts and a lot of deciding you have to do. Great topic.

He's funny looking but he's also a true legend. Porno For Pyros never came close to matching the epicness of Janes Addiction. Ritual De Lo Habitual stands in my Top 10 greatest albums list and the one-two punch of Three Days and Then She Did still blows me away. (I just listened to them and they still give me goosebumps.) Nothing's Shocking is also brilliant and I would nominate it as best album of the 80's.

Also Perry was the mastermind behind Lollapalooza which permanently changed the musical landscape and launched the careers of Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, and Red Hot Chili Peppers to name a few.

Post Janes Addiction Perry had 2 decent Porno For Pyros albums, a couple of ho-hum solo albums and the underwhelming Satellite Party project. Unfortunately I think his creative fire was extinguished when he gave up drugs and found God.

I don't think I actually know any other song by that band. But Pets was in heavy rotation on Block Island the summer desroc and I met, and became one of our "compromise" songs - so it kind of holds a special place.

JSP I just remembered you stole my Porno for Pyros cd. You told me you would appreciate it more and I had to get another one. Jerk!

I don't recall that Catfreeek but that does sound like something I'd do...

I just assumed that Ritual De Lo Habitual was in every household. You know, like a refrigerator. DCD stop reading this, buy it, give it a proper listen and get back to me on the implications of the lyrics "She was unhappy just as you were".

Just because it's not on my favorite playlist doesn't mean it's not in my house, JSP.

Both his Mom and girlfriend committed suicide.

You rule DCD.
