This necesitates for me a second viewing of Expendables 1 because when I saw it in the theater I couldn't clear my clouded, amused thoughts of "I'm watching a Stallone movie, I'm watching a Stallone movie, I'm watching a Stallone movie..."
(it was my first)
teaser (noun) : a movie trailer that is intended to whet the appetites of fanatical fans but reveals nothing, thus pissing me the hell off.
I checked out Expendables on a total whim -- the kind of whim I get to indulge now that I've got Netflix coming through my Blu-ray player onto my big screen (which essentially means I can arbitrarily watch all kinds of stuff for free).
I didn't get that far into the movie, but I thought it was kind of charming (in exactly the way they intended). The scene with Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Willis was "a hoot" (as they say). The "plot" was a bunch of ridiculous nonsense I couldn't be bothered with. Maybe I'll watch the rest later.
I encourage you to finish it if you're able to check your brain at the door. There are some terrific battle sequences that will satisfy your inner 1980s geek (that is, if you enjoyed any of the 1980s meat and potatoes action fare).
Ha! I love it! I think it's hilarious that they just list the cast..."Also...Van Damme" "And Willis"
That is some brilliant freaking marketing for all the people who would get excited simply seeing the guys who are in it. JSP's opinion not withstanding - it worked for me!
