From worstpreviews, While promoting "Funny Games," Naomi Watts spoke to STYD about what's going on with the upcoming remake of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds."
"It's a work-in-progress at this point," she says. "I think it's a wonderful film. There are great things in it that interest me. The script isn't completely there yet, it probably won't happen until next year."
The original 1963 film is about a wealthy San Francisco woman, who pursues a potential boyfriend to a small Northern California town that slowly takes a turn for the bizarre. Birds of all kinds suddenly begin to attack people in increasing numbers and with increasing viciousness.
Martin Campbell is already on board to direct. He last helmed "Casino Royale," which reinvigorated the James Bond franchise.
