DCD's Hubby stars as Two-Face

So, for those of you who may not know, my husband is a professional chef, and he met the bad end of an evil oven on a job over the weekend. I give you: Two-Face.

Good Guy

Bad Guy

Plus - check out this hand!

(My hubby is very brave. Also, he knows I'm posting this and thinks it cool.)

Ooh, ouch! His burned lips look pretty Jokerish, to boot!

Please extend a get well soon from North Hollywood. I'm sure dinner was delicious.

Well that's just horrible and I'm very sorry.

And no DCD, I most certainly was not aware that your husband was a professional chef!?!? (But that does explain why you're always in such a good mood.)

But yeah, that's just very, very awful and I'm flooded with questions.

1) Is he ok?
2) How long ago did this happen?
3) What the hell happened?
4) What's your favorite dish that he makes?
5) Seriously, is he alright?

Ok, I see that you already answered #2 (heh, #2).

OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

(And that's the last time a diner asked for his chef medium-rare) ba-dum-dump (sorry)

I'm with JSP on this one, I hope he's ok, and what incredible dishes does he cook for you at home?

Damn! That looks just terrible! I'm glad he didn't lose an eye! Is he okay? Is he taking good drugs?

DCD, were you at Rhode Island Hospital today?

1. that must hurt like nobody's business. seriously, is he ok?

2. dcd's hubby is a bad-ass chef! good going, dcd! :)

3. if dcd's hubby is ok, i would seriously love to hear chef stories and food stories. i don't know if it counts as a guilty pleasure, but i have been fascinated by chefs since i was a teenager (yes, even before the food network). i once drove to another state to go to a thoroughly irrelevant conference just so i could meet jacques pepin. good times.

Um, no JPX, I was not at RI Hospital today.

This happened Saturday, R was lighting an oven on a job site (he is in catering.) In trying to re-light the pilot, there was basically a giant fireball. He is doing okay, using lots of neosporin. He did get some good drugs for pain, although I think he is out now. Being a chef he does know how to deal with burns as he has had many in his career. This is definitely the worst though. He appreciates all the good wishes.

As far as favorite dishes, here's the thing...pretty much ANYTHING he puts his hand to is awesome. It's not like there are particular "signature" dishes that he does. It's just that he is so talented and so instinctual at cooking - everything is always super yummy. Octo can attest to this as well.

PS - R says "Good one, Miko!"

I so attest. He is a food-making maestro.

Holy shit, D. That looks painful.

As for dcd's chef hubby's skills, I think she described it perfectly. For instance, if you hear someone is making sausage and peppers, you think, "Huh. Sounds easy and decent." Then R. serves it up and you're like, "Wtf? How did he do that?" He can just throw some veggies and chicken on the grill and somehow it comes out amazing.

There's an old review from when he was at Rafael's online somewhere, no?
