Uwe Boll wants to make Grand Theft Auto film

If you listen really carefully, you can probably hear Richard shouting obscenities all the way from California. Uwe Boll has said that he is the man to bring Grand Theft Auto to the big screen. The quote attributed to him shows the usual amount of modesty. Man this guy likes the sound of his own voice.

Uwe Boll thinks that he could make a Grand Theft Auto film, and all for $30 million. He is quoted on Vulture thorough /film as saying:

Grand Theft Auto would be super interesting for me, and I think I would actually be the right guy to do it, because my movies are all bloody and violent and I don’t have a problem with action scenes. But look, they will go, in the end, with a Michael Bay or a Brett Ratner, and it will be a PG-13 movie made for $150 million. I think it would be better to make a $30 million, very hard, brutal movie without compromising, but I’m not optimistic

Let's hope his lack of optimism is validated. I love Grand Theft Auto but I'm not sure I'd like to see any GTA film, I do know for sure I wouldn't want him in charge of it if there was one. Rockstar haven't commented, which hopefully means nothing. What do you think, is a GTA film a good idea with any director? Would you actually like to see Uwe Boll have a crack at it?
