Watchmen-Take Two
Being that we were all rested up from having a day off courtesy of the coveted snow day, making the drive to Randolph was a must. So JSP, it may be all sunshine and lollipops in your area but you do miss out on the snow days. The theater itself was big and impressive with really comfortable seats, even if we did get cheated out of the downstairs luxury theater with the super, unbelievably comfy seats that we overheard them saying we were originally supposed to be in. No complaints though, first in, seated dead center and it was free!
What I knew about Watchmen prior to viewing the film:
I saw the trailers, I knew it was dark and unlike your typical superhero film & there was a blue guy and a guy with a cool mask. That's about it.
Here's my brief take on the film. I promise not to give away anything important and absolutely no spoilers so read on.
The film was really long but only felt the slightest bit draggy at one point near the middle. The way they worked through each character giving background story and up to present really drew me into it. The characters were interesting, I felt like I knew them. Their personalities, their assets and their flaws. The action sequences were intense and well executed. The effects were friggin' sweet! There's really nothing to hate about this movie and it makes me want to read it now. Even though I swore off buyng comic books until I sift through the sea of comics filling the shelves of my bedroom closet. I'm only sorry we all didn't make it there. JPX, Whirly, AC & Mr. AC you were truly missed.

Just left a response on Dana's Brain's post. Allow me to sum up here: Just read it last week for the first time. Awesome. And now I'm jealous of you guys.
Good job braving the storm - I would've done the same thing!
It's been raining lollipops these days.

Thanks for the heads up JSP I'll be purchasing it just as soon as it hit the shelves.
i did get tix to watchmen th midnight but i make no promises.
I read both reviews and I'm glad you all had a good time. I don't know anything about Watchmen so I can't really say that I was too disappointed about not making it (please don't stone me).
I saw the Eels perform at the Paradise about 7 years ago, it was a weird show!
Thanks for the take on Watchmen Cat. I have been a fan for a long time and it's unlike almost any comic book so get it. It's more like good literature with story boards.
