Spider-Man 4 is Having Villain Problems

From worstpreviews, During the making of "Spider-Man 3," director Sam Raimi did not want Venom to be the villain in the movie, but Sony convinced him otherwise. The result, a big mess. And now that "Spider-Man 4" is ready to head into production in March, the studio is once again getting in Raimi's way.

IESB has learned that the new installment, being called "Spider-M4N" by Sony, has been put on hold while Raimi and executives figure out which villains will appear in the film.

Raimi is pushing for Vulture (possibly played by John Malkovich), a character who can fly through the air and brandish his sharp wings to attack our hero. But Sony believes that there are plenty of other more popular villains that he can use. The studio doesn't have any characters in mind, but will take whichever one is selling the most comic books right now. And it's not the Vulture.

Because of this disagreement, the fourth film has come to halt, leaving the script unfinished and in need of villain. Only time will tell whether the March start date will be pushed back. Stay tuned.

The Vulture seems to be a favorite for Raimi, since he was pushing for the villain to appear in "Spider-Man 3" instead of Venom. Vulture and Flint Marko would have been cellmates who escaped together, with Vulture pressuring Marko into committing crimes.

Spider-M4n? What the deuce?

I'll just quote HandsomeStan on this one (from a recent Tron post): "I've never been a fan of the "one number as a letter in the title" schtick, i.e. Se7en, Numb3rs, etc. It's usually just so jarring, and you have to think about the word twice. I don't have that kind of time."

I'm going to send in one m1,000,000illion dollars.

And seriously, I'm expected to have to formulate the words "Spider Muh-Four-Ann"?

I like the title SE7EN, because a) it's Fincher; b) it's Kyle Cooper doing the title sequence (over the Nine Inch Nails song) (and he's a genius); and c) that particular example of the numeral in the word works well; it messes with your eyes in a pleasing fashion. All the other examples (including Spider-M4n or whatever the fuck) are terrible.

Il est dommage que je ne peux pas m'exprimer maintenant - je suis en retard pour la rencontre. Je reviendrai - j'exprimerai absolument l'opinion sur cette question. http://runfr.com cialis 20mg prix en pharmacie acheter viagra

Se7en works because "7" is almost a "v" rotated.

Is it me or are we getting more spam than usual? Does ANYONE fall for that shit? I can't imagine even the most demented elderly old biddy falling for scams like that.

Oh, you'd be surprised. They actually had to take my step-grandmother's mail delivery away, since she was writing so many checks.

Tony's ex wife is that stupid, she's fallen for more scams then I can count.

I just changed the settings to spike the anonymous comments. It's now only anyone with a Google account. We'll see how that goes.

I like the repartee with the spambots sometimes, but two bots on one post is too much. Besides, we're never going to get another one as funny as on the Jane Austen zombie post from Tuesday.

I can't believe I missed that Jane Austen spambot - that is fucking awesome! And each comment was a contest to be funnier, and each one won!

I say, leave 'em in. The more out-of-context, the better. We're in such a closed loop environment here, it's nice when something totally unexpected happens. It's like a naked person running through a board meeting, or a major kitchen appliance suddenly sighing, saying "That's it, I've had it," and walking out the door.

Great, great stuff. The spice of the blog.
